18TH Annual in-person CONFERENCE:
MAY 26-28, 2027

We're heading to a new location: the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, MB!

Why the new location?

oCUBE is an open consortium with members across Canada. We've heard the voices of our members that our previous UnConferences weren't always as accessible as they need to be. To be more inclusive of current members and potential members, we'll be rotating in-person locations within and across Canada. Join us in Winnipeg in 2027 for the start of a new era!

Will this affect the UnConference experience?

No! The oCUBE UnConference has always and will continue to prioritize sharing knowledge, building community, and focusing on the issues and interests of the participants--that's central to the UnConference format. Expect that to remain the same regardless of location.

The general structure of the conference will involve participants building of the conference schedule. A draft schedule for 2027 is available hereDraft 2027 In-Person UnConference Schedule

Registration Fee Structure

The 2027 UnConference will have a Registration Fee paid to oCUBE, to cover the cost of conference space and materials, as well as meals and snack breaks during the conference program. Separate from this Registration Fee, participants will be responsible for coordinating and paying for transportation to/from Winnipeg, local accommodation, and evening dinners.

oCUBE recognizes that many people--including students, post-doctoral fellows, and faculty/staff with sessional / contract positions have limited access to professional expense accounts. Consequently, like our oCUBE membership fee structure, we have a Subsidized Registration option to help support attendance for individuals with limited funding. Registration requires active oCUBE membership status for the 2027-2028 membership year. Individuals who are not registered members for the year will be required to become members for the 2027-2028 year:
